Training courses

We run training courses on 2 topics, Business Model Design and Value Proposition Design. Both training courses are typically run in-house but we also run these as public courses. In both, participants apply content to their business as well as case examples. Course duration is 1 day, but shorter courses can be delivered on request. Contact us for more details.     

Business Model Design Training

Every organisation has a business model (sometimes called a mission model in social enterprise / public sector) of some sort. They vary hugely, of course, but successful one's create superior value for customers (or stakeholders), capture value for themselves and deliver value sustainably. This introductory course provides the knowledge and tools to understand existing business models and to develop alternatives. By the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Explain what a business model is

  • Define their existing business model and it's high level strengths and weaknesses

  • Develop a range of alternative business model ideas and prototypes

  • Test their business model prototypes

 

Whether you are launching a new product, want to develop new growth paths or just want to think differently about your future business, this course provides an essential toolset and common language for entrepreneurial thinking

Value Proposition Design Training

The world of business is littered with failed products, services and projects. One of the main reasons for these failures is the lack of fit between the solution developed (the value proposition) and the customer need. Successful businesses design great value propositions on the back of a deep understanding of the customer. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Specify customer needs and problems more clearly

  • Define the customer value proposition – a bundle of products, services and benefits

  • Identify any issues with existing product to market fit

  • Design alternative value propositions

  • Develop a test plan for value propositions
